When staying with the family in Derby I do appreciate the very short journey to Willington. This mini-nighter was actually the first I'd made it since the same time last year, and was an excellent night, people arrived early as their mini-nighters have been known to be lockouts before. I knew Sean Chapman was guesting so was looking forward to seeing him, along with other guests Soul Sam, Jo Wallace and Chris Anderton. Many friends were in both from locally in the midlands and further afield, one couple from Bournemouth were there who have relatives in the area, I'd met them 6 years ago when there was a do at a hotel down there. Musically very across the board, some people I know that like their oldies best find Willington's regular nights too modern, but certainly through the course of this mini-nighter there was northern, modern and R&B to suit everyone, and plenty of underplayed tunes in all categories, I was pleased to dance a lot anyway. Made for a good night to warm up for the Stoke New Year all-nighter which I'll be writing up later.
