Those who also go on the EASC board already know last week really was it for my 14 year old diesel Rover. I knew I'd be getting shut anyway, February was its MOT and tax renewal month but it had been identified at service that it would need welding work and a new pipe for the power steering, at this stage that would be money better spent towards a newer car, my new soulmobile is a Corsa, again a diesel one. I'd been to Derby as I was going to a classical concert there Thursday night anyway (yes I do enjoy some of that as well as my northern), got the car that afternoon and was able to collect it Saturday. Hence I missed EASC at Peterborough City club but travelled back Saturday night via Barrowby.
I'm certainly proud of how well the Rover has done, at 14 it had done nearly 178000 miles, and a lot of that has of course been my Soul trips in the last few years. Today really was the final farewell as it was collected by the local CarTakeback appointed treatment facility, it seemed so strange back to arrive home from work and not see it parked, but at least I can know that its remaining good components would be useful spares and other metal and fluids will be recycled as much as possible.

Sorry you missed the City Club, but glad to hear you're doing your bit for the environment - nice one Alan
