Once again a superb weekend. It had a delayed start for me this time as I had a flat tyre when I was about to set off after work. Once that was changed ok it wasn't too bad a journey though, arrived at my usual B&B about 8.30 to be in the venue just before 9. Once walking in was soon meeting and greeting many different friends including those few who I only see there, ie twice a year.
Spent quite a lot of time in the downstairs room with the underplayed music, where it isn't so hot and there's more room to dance, I've always liked how the rooms aren't split by simply "Northern" and "Modern" but with downstairs being for "underplayed" tracks right from the 60s to today. I specially enjoyed Steve Jeffries' set of lesser played Northern on the Saturday afternoon and Sam Evans had a good 70s/80s set on Sunday. It wasn't as packed as it had been last September, it has sold out for the last few Septembers but the March weekends don't quite sell out as they are so soon after Prestatyn, nevertheless plenty in for a great atmosphere. On checking out of the B&B the landlady booked me straight in for September.
