This venue gets heavily booked so soul nights there are few and far between but when they're on they're good. Steve Jay was specially doing this one as a charity fundraiser for Long Sutton Fire Station, a cause which is very personal to him as in a thunderstorm 18 months ago, his roof was set alight after being struck by lightning.
I always enjoy Steve and Kev Laws' sets to hear the underplayed modern tunes but they did play right across the board anyway. Good to meet up with Andy and Debbie Riley from Notts as Andy was guesting, the other guest was Andy 'Smudge' Smith, great sets from these too. On the fundraising front they had raised £500 so was really pleased for them.
