Enjoyed an excellent Nottinghamshire double bill weekend before last. Friday night's first port of call was the community centre at Beeston on the edge of Nottingham, known as "The Shed". Only my second ever trip here, like when I first went in November this night had been designated for a meetup on the message board on Friends Reunited Connections, with friends from Birmingham and north of Hull alike meeting up there. I hadn't seen this crowd since that November date so good to catch up. I didn't catch the DJs names but that didn't worry me, they'd kept me dancing anyway.
Enjoyed Annesley on the Saturday too, another friendly venue with a good range of tunes, lots of underplayed stuff especially for the early part. Guests were Ian Seaman who co-runs Barrowby, and Andy Jackson. It was a very busy night, more densely packed than the Shed, it paid to pace my dancing so as not to get too hot, but there were plenty of friends to talk to while I wasn't dancing.
